 Description

Interact for PalmPilot has a server component that runs on the Windows NT server and a client component that runs on the PalmPilot device.  This is a demonstration program and not for resale.   

Server Component

1. Provides graphical view of the caregiver/patient schedule. All the schedule information can be modified interactively through this console.
2. Import and export data from Interact to existing systems. Interact has a set of open APIs that can be used for importing and exporting data.
3. Provides smart synchronization. One-button synchronization automatically takes care of synchronizing all tasks for the caregiver, as well as sends updates.

PalmPilot Component

The PalmPilot component consists of various forms. These forms are used to record the clinical details as well as any OASIS assessments at the point of care. These forms come pre-filled with the patient information such as the patient profile and directions to the patient’s location.

 Process

Interact provides open connectivity for interfacing with existing administrative systems at home health agencies. Patient information, caregiver information as well as scheduled visit information can be imported into Interact from existing systems. This data can be retrieved from the server by the caregiver remotely, say at the beginning of the workday. It appears in the form of scheduled tasks on the caregiver’s PalmPilot device. Once the tasks are completed, the gathered clinical information can be delivered to the server remotely. Once synchronized to the Interact server, the clinical information and OASIS data can be exported to the enterprise database.

Synchronization between the PalmPilot devices and the server can be accomplished remotely using a wireline or a wireless modem, or directly from the PalmPilot cradle. Once the clinical details are recorded, the form is marked "DONE" and prepared for delivery. On the next synchronization, the clinical data is delivered to the server and the task is marked as completed.
