PCS provides complete turn-key solutions to your data collection projects.  Paper forms are redesigned and programmed for use on the PalmPilot™/ PPC.  Data collected on the PalmPilot™/PPC is, at the touch of a button, uploaded to your PC or server and  seamlessly integrated into your own database.

One or more forms are programmed and stored on the PalmPilot/ PPC.  Forms (applications) boot up at the touch of a button - no waiting or searching directories. The end user fills out the form (s) on the PalmPilot/ PPC - just like they would with a paper form.  Records are automatically saved, even if the PalmPilot / PPC is turned off accidentally.  The end user may jump back and forth between different applications without losing data. Saved records may be instantly reviewed or edited. Extra memory for larger applications can be added.

Once the form (s) have been filled out the PalmPilot / PPC is now ready to transfer (upload) the data (as dbf or ASCII) to a PC or server.  The PalmPilot / PPC is dropped into it's cradle and, at the touch of a button, data is uploaded.   PCS designs this HotSyncŪ process to operate seamlessly.  Palm Computing  and Pumatech (Satellite Forms Server) now offer the Palm HotSync Server for larger business and enterprise groups.  The Palm HotSyncŪ Server is a multi-user, network-accessible version of Palm Computing's HotSync Manager desktop software, allowing multiple concurrent Palm users to synchronize with server-resident data, and it allows IT to centrally administer these synchronization services.  Palm Computing also now offers the Palm Ethernet Cradle (shown above) to connect to server-resident data via the Palm HotSync Server, or to desktop PCs using the Network HotSync technology.  Palm OS / Pocket PC custom wireless  application services are also available.

Databases on the stand alone PC or server are set up, by PCS,  to receive the HotSync  from the  PalmPilot (s)/ PPC.  PCS will integrate data from the PalmPilot/ PPC  into most common databases, i.e., DB2, Sybase, Access, FoxPro, Informix,   dbase, Approach etc.  PCS is also an Oracle Partner.

Uploaded data is mapped into the database.   Above is an example of data from a custom form that has been uploaded from the PalmPilot/ PPC into a Microsoft Access table. PCS can also create custom screens on the PC to view uploaded data from the PalmPilot™/ PPC.. (click on arrows to view sample screens)

Reports can now be printed out from the database or, in some cases, directly from the PalmPilot/ PPC. Information has now gone directly from the source, where it was collected, to the database where it is stored, without the time consuming, error prone, and costly "paper- to- computer" transcription process.
