The screen shot at the top of this web page is the main menu. If you select the 'Hotsync EMS Call' button you will go to the form shown at the far left of this text. First you hotsync your palm while viewing this screen. A message will be shown on the form that the database is being updated. During the hotsync process you will be prompted with a choice to clear all data off the palm or not. This is good for services that want to sync data at a hospital or firehouse, then also sync that data later to an admin. copy of this database. Next, select an incident number from the list of calls that have been transferred from the palm to the database. Now you are ready to print or edit any of the data hotsynced from the palm. This screen is laid out to match the palm screens. For example if you click the 'Incident Information' button you will see the same fields that are shown on the palm incident info screen. This aids in training users of the database; learn the palm screens and you will know the database screens. |
| As the screens to the right show, you can add or edit any procedures you hotsynced from the palm prior to printing. The graphic on the far right shows the top part of the Patient care report. The crew member signatures from the palm will be printed on the footer of this report. All treatments/procedures are listed in order of time followed by the narrative. |
| In the database you can type/edit your narrative, with spell check
capabilities. You can also view the signatures from the palm right in the database.
The administration area of the database allows you to edit, view, and export
data, plus output system reports for scene time and response time. There
is a summary report that outputs totals for call types, chief complaints,
call levels, and location type totals. You can output all Main Incident, Patient and
Procedures/Treatment data to Excel for further analysis. Just input a date
range and press the export button. There are eight main data tables in the
database. You can open any of these tables for review, sorting, copying, etc... You have control over eight different drop down data lists on the palm. They are: Vehicles, Chief Complaint, Employees, Facilities, Incident locations, Incident types, Patient meds, and Treatment/Procedures. You can open any of these eight tables in the database; edit the data and then send that data to the palm via hotsync. PDA Medic FAQ (pdf file) |
