iQue 3600

The iQue 3600 is the first PDA to feature a built-in GPS antenna and integrated turn-by-turn navigation software. Using an ARM processor powered by Palm OS 5, the iQue 3600 combines Garmin’s proprietary Que technology with the unit’s Address Book and Date Book. The integrated result is that users can look up an address or appointment on their iQue 3600 and navigate to it using the mapping function, following turn-by-turn, voice-guided directions to their destination. Their progress is presented digitally on the device’s color display.

The iQue 3600 is powered by Motorola's 200 MHz DragonBall MXL microprocessor, it has 32MB of RAM, an SD memory expansion slot, and a 320x480-pixel transflective TFT display with more than 60,000 color combinations. The handheld measures 5.0" x 2.8" x 0.8" (72 x 128 x 20.3 mm) and weighs 5.2 oz.

Symbol Technologies has integrated the SE 900 lightweight laser bar code scanner engine with the Palm, Inc. Palm OS to produce the SPT 1550, 1733,1800 and 1740. This allows PCS to design, program and integrate custom software applications for end users who need the efficiencies of bar code scanning with the small size and efficiencies of Palm OS devices. The SPT 1500 is shown on the right.

The Samsung i1300 / i1700 includes all the features standard on all Palms but also adds a digital cell phone, voice recorder and color screen. The Samsung I300 also contains a speakerphone so calls and Palm functions can operate simultaneously. PCS can write custom software applications that take advantage of the Samsung I300 features.

SONY introduces four new Palm OS devices; the PEG-S360 CLIE' with a 16 grey scale display, PEG-N760c, PEG-T615c and the PEG-T415. All units seamlessly run any and all applications written for all other Palm OS devices including all custom applications written by PCS.
